I chose to study psychology after taking a class on the science of personal and social change. I was inspired by the notion that we could use the scientific method to understand how to effectively improve our lives. I learned that we have a choice in how we view the world and react to it. I learned how making simple changes to these choices can have a significant impact on our effectiveness at work, on our relationships with others, and on our level of happiness and health.
We can learn to relate skillfully to our thoughts and emotions just like we can learn to read, do algebra, or play the piano. We can train and strengthen our mind just like we can train and strengthen our muscles. I am excited to share with you this science, practice, and wisdom. I look forward to seeing how it will empower and transform you, as it has done for me.
